Classic 21km and Freestyle 7km Results

What an event . A special thanks to the volunteers who stood outside in the cold timing , and course setting. Thank you to the Snow Farm for course setting. The conditions were great with good tracks and over 43  skiers in the three events. It  is good to see the resurgence in the club and all the people happily skiing with families and dogs _ See the results on our new result page . Result Page

It seems the timers missed a few times so if you took your own let me know and I’ll pop it in. The order is correct.

Cobweb season opening

Special Thanks to the Snow Farm staff and the enthuesiasm of Ernie, Tim & Nicole and especially the skiers new to cross country who entered in the event. Awesome. While those of you who thought conditions wouldn’t be great, they were the best – new snow during the morning made the classic tracks perfect for Salomom skin skis and other non wax skis. The event was purely fun, rules relaxed to cater for everyone – join us for next event

The chocolate prizes were a perfect reward.

The results – Who can improve over the winter

JUNIOR TROPHY WINNERS
These were presented by Ernie M. and Hannah from the Ski School, Saturday afternoon at the conclusion of the Schools’ prizegiving. Awards don’t come without a lot of hard work, so we congratulate the Winners, but it takes ALL of our young skiers to push the others along and bring out the best in each other, so you all deserve to be congratulated. We have a growing bunch of young ones who love the sport and are bringing their friends along on school days. At this age they learn so quickly, so it’s the ideal time to introduce them to it. Bring on NEXT season! Hopefully even more kids. Attached is the list of Jnr trophy winners. Continue reading “CLUB NEWS 11 – 19th September ‘17”

WINTER GAMES RACING
Last Thurs, Fri and Sat we were treated to racing at its best with top XC skiers from several countries competing for all-important FIS rankings. Even in trying conditions on Saturday it was great viewing from the UFO as most of the course could be seen. Ernie and team set a challenging circuit, and freshly groomed by Dean, it looked a picture. The Snow Farm can be proud of what it offers to international skiers. It’s up there with the best trails in the world. The Winter Games is supported by many volunteers, who on Saturday stood out in awful weather for hours. All credit to them! It was especially exciting to watch young Campbell Wright, racing with some of the world’s best on Saturday. He acquitted himself very well in the Classic race, running up most of the hills and passing others on the way. Very impressive for a lad who is only 15 and great experience for him. No doubt we’ll hear a bit more of Campbell! Continue reading “CLUB NEWS 10 – 13th Sept ‘17”
